ICK and FSSP to visit Ireland

This is wonderful news, the state of the Church in Ireland is simply a mess. Mass is celebrated as though it were 1970 and Old Mass is very hard to find. They have an excellent Irish LMS that works hard and is doing it's best to get Old Mass into all the major cities as soon as possible. But the Irish LMS is only 7 years old! It sort of shows you what a state the Church is in that it hasn't had a LMS until very recently.

The Irish is just behind the times thats all. They got the 70s much later than we did.

Indeed the Latin Mass Society of Ireland is 7 years old today and has achieved great things over the past seven years. The Institute of Christ the King celebrate a monthly mass in Limerick and the FSSP have visited previously.Father Devillers visited when he was Superior and met several of the Irish Bishops. There was not much activity before 1999 and in the last few years myself and others have worked hard to establish a regular mass in Galway,A FSSP priest celebrated the first public Indult Mass in the Galway Diocese in 40 years,a few years ago.I think the LMSI are a dynamic and hardworking society and yes there was a slow reaction after 1970 but things are moving now.www.latinmassireland.org will give an idea of the situation in Ireland.
